At the age of five, Shihan Martin Ruben Suarez Fernandez began the practice of martial arts with Tae kwon do training. Years later he began the practice of Jiu Jitsu, obtaining the degree of Black Belt First Dan at the age of 16.
At the age of 18, he obtained the degree of Jiu Jitsu Instructor, at which time he began to teach, while studying to become a teacher in the specialties of Physical Education and Primary Education.
From 1999 to 2012, Shian Suarez taught Jiu Jitsu classes at Gymnasium Las Palmas, dean gym of judo in the Canary Islands. There he meet the master of masters D. Amado Ramos Perez (9 Dan of Judo), pioneer of Spanish judo and first judo master in the Canary Islands. During those years I deepened in the study of Judo and Jiu Jitsu.
During those years, he was repeatedly part of the courts of grade for the promotion to Black Belt. He teaches the training courses to become Monitor, Coach and Master of the Royal Spanish Judo Federation.
From 2004 to 2016, Shihan Suarez held the position of Jiu Jitsu insular delegate in the Gran Canaria Judo Federation. In 2012 I obtained the sixth Dan of Jiu Jitsu from the Royal Spanish Judo Federation.
In 2012, he founded the Dojo Dojokan Dojo traditional martial arts, where I teaches three times a week until today.
From 2003 to the present, Shihan Suarez have been giving training and improvement courses for private security and escort.
He holds a degree from the Ministry of Interior of the Government of Spain to train security guards. He teach special classes to film specialists focusing on the shackling and restraint of the individual.
In 2016, the FEETAM granted him the 7th Dan of Jiu Jitsu and in the 2017 the MAA (Martial Arts Alliance) grants him the 7th Dan of Jiu Jitsu.
In 2018, Shihan Suarez co-founded the FEETAM (Spanish Federation of Traditional Schools of Martial Arts). Later he co-found the Spanish Federation of Jiu Jitsu, being its first president. In that Federation I carried out the first training courses for monitors.
In 2019, Shihan Suarez became part of International Martial Arts Organization (IMAO), being subsequently appointed Vice President. In 2019, the Italian Olympic Committee granted him the 8th Dan in Jiu Jitsu. In 2023, IMAO granted him the 8th Dan in Jiu Jitsu. In 2024, PJJF recognized Shihan Suarez's 8th Dan in Jiu Jitsu. Shihan Suarez currently combines his work as a primary school teacher and the classes at the Dojokan Sports Club.
